Making technology work to empower local structures, economies and individuals has always been a great passion of mine.

I worked as a PHP developer for Koeln.de, Cologne's official city portal, building projects like a data aggregator and mapping system.

I built my first local regional portal in 2002 and have kept returning to the subject ever since: Local directories, local news, local businesses as the backbone of a healthy community.
