Refactored a legacy WordPress E-Commerce app

An e-commerce platform operating a WordPress install with a custom theme and some business logic inside a multisite network approached me about making the site workable for a new target market in Europe.

The theme was based on hard-coded strings and settings that made it impossible to use in any other language than German.

Using Claude Code, Conductor and intensive code review and testing I was able to quickly, safely and easily identify all hard-coded theme contents and replace them with dynamic content, adjust the business logic to support multiple countries, and generally make the site more robust and scalable.

The site is now chugging along in production in the new market.
