Migrated analytics from GA to Plausible

For a client who wanted simple analytics and no cookie pop-up, I installed Plausible, an open source analytics tool with a friendly, simple interface.

Google Analytics is the industry standard for measuring website performance, but it can be very arduous to use - especially for non-technical clients who want to take a peek.

It also comes with GDPR implications: a website that does not have to display a cookie banner for any other reason has to display one if using Google Analytics.

A client wanted simple analytics and to move on without a cookie pop-up. For this we installed Plausible.io - an EU-based analytics product that promises easier GDPR handling as well as a simple, beautiful interface that a non-technical client can understand, use, and explore without getting lost in a maze.

Tools like Plausible or Umami present a new generation of user-friendly analytics that are fast, simple, GDPR-compliant, and fairly easy to connect to from AIs - wonderful for auto-generated weekly check-ins and quarterly reports.
